Dr. Thierry Durroux got his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology in 1991 at the University of Montpellier (France) and has been a researcher in CNRS from 1992. He has trained in electrophysiology and worked on the characterization of different calcium channels in the glomerulosa cells of the adrenal gland. In 1997, he focused on vasopressin and oxytocin receptors. He got interest in the pharmacological properties of these receptors and more precisely on the consequences of receptor oligomerization on their binding and coupling properties. He joined the department of molecular pharmacology of the Institut de Génomique fonctionnelle in Montpellier (France) in 2001. His recent work focuses on the development of new fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) based strategies to study receptor oligomer either in heterologous expression system or in native tissues and the development of the mathematical models to predict receptor oligomerization consequences on receptor binding and coupling properties.
